Alfredos Theodorakopoulos is a référendaire (law clerk) in the cabinet of Advocate General Athanasios Rantos at the Court of Justice of the European Union. Prior to his current role, he was a Senior Associate in the Antitrust, Competition & Trade practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Brussels, where he advised on merger control, antitrust, and State aid matters. He also worked in the litigation practice of Constantine Cannon in London and completed a Blue Book traineeship in the cartels unit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition.
He has studied at the University of Paris-II Pantheon ASSAS (LLB and Master 1), University of Athens (LLM) and King’s College London (LLM).
Alfredos often publishes on competition law matters and is a regular speaker at conferences as well as seminars and workshops organised by the OECD and national competition authorities
