She is full Professor of Economics at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (on leave).
Her work experience includes Brunel University in West London (Senior Lecturer, Full Professor), Universitè Libre de Bruxelles (suppléant) and Universitè de Liege (maitre de conferance). She was visiting scholar at Bristol University, Catholic University of Milan, Harvard University and Toulouse School of Economics.
She obtained a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Naples “Federico II”, an M.Sc. in Economics at the University of York, and a T.M.R. Marie Curie Post-doc European Fellowship at the Universitè Libre de Bruxelles (E.C.A.R.E.S.). Whilst in the academia, she has provided expert advice to various international institutions including European Commission, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UK Competition Authority, UK Financial Service Authority, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, Office of Fair Trading, IFAD-United Nations, Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank.
Her research is in the field of industrial economics, with a focus on competition policy and public procurement. She has published in top-tier international economic journals, including American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, Economic Journal, Games and Economic Behaviour, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of European Economic Association, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Rand Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies.
